A cautionary tale of kindness and sharing was taken to life when Scrooge was staged by children at Ramsgate Arts Primary School.
The classic Charles Dickens Christmas story of cold-hearted miser Ebenezer Scrooge was the main festive show performed inside the new school hall.

It was performed by Year 4 pupils with song and dance routines by Years 3, 5 and 6. The viewers of family packed the hall with standing room only left surrounding the side and back in the auditorium.

The tale, adapted by teacher Jon Williams who directed the, began with children sitting in the Christmas tree squabbling and jealousy eyeing one another’s presents C until Grandma stepped in and warned them within their behaviour and began to retell the tale of Scrooge, the Cratchet family, plus the visit via the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future.

From beginning to end the energetic show bubbled with enthusiasm and confidence, and it included interpretive dance routines to festive songs including Allow it to needlessly Snow, Santa Claus Is Coming to Town, Rockin’ Robin, A Starry Night, along with the some Silent Night therefore we Three Kings.

Head of college Nick Budge? told listeners: “This could be the very first time we’re capable of stage a festive show inside our own hall as well as the result is fantastic.

“Next year hopefully you like to experience a purpose built stage into position and we are funding-raising due to this project now and into 2019.

“The standard of performance at RAPS is invariably strong and also this year our pupils are suffering from their skills well, and yes it shows within the confidence in the manner they present their shows.”

Mr Budge praised many of the cast, singers and dancers and thanked the workers who helped the pupils.
Director Jon Williams added: “The children really pulled together, labored and were so enthusiastic about making Scrooge a show to not overlook.”
