Hartsdown ARC (Achievement with Respect and Confidence) students are learning amazing circus skills C magic tricks and tightrope walking C from entertainers with the famous Flying Seagull Project as a consequence of a partnership with isle youth organisation, Arts Education Exchange (ArtsEdEx).
The weekly workshops have been a convincing success so, to afford them into 2019, ArtsEdEx is organising good results gig at Elsewhere, at The Centre inMargate, on Thursday, December 20.
Confirmed acts include Afrobeat legend Dele Sosimi with his fantastic orchestra, the Cliftonville Community Singers choir, broadcaster?Ayo Akinwolere, and local artists Emrys Plant, Falle Nioke and Young Brothers, with additional special guests to generally be announced soon.
ArtsEdEx founder, Ollie Briggs, said: “Young individuals the region face huge barriers to progression, but there’s a real cultural revolution taking here, with the influx of creative businesses. Our job is to bridge the space, to offer local young adults the skills to succeed in these industries, and also to make sure that these opportunities are open to all.? The?Love Harts?event, the fact that the younger generation helped to mention, plans to be a great night, an effective way to get started on your Christmas holiday!

Hartsdown teacher Tony Morris, added: “We have many students who find education difficult, therefore we attempted to teach them in smaller groups and in various ways C to determine and meet their wants and reintegrate them. Throughout the course of just a couple Seagulls sessions we’ve seen incredible progress C students who stood backs-to-the-wall becoming fully engaged, the frequently late arriving when they’re due. It’s just a pleasure to find out them having fun and enjoying learning.”
Student Kieran Ripley, 15, said: “It’s superior to school! I look forward to it and I’d like to continue on working. We play the next day and I actually do animation during the afternoon, we also enjoy.”
