A story by having an important social message in addition to a classic music mix with the 80s designed a high-octane end of year spectacular completed by pupils at Chilton Primary School in Ramsgate.
Producer Gemma Scarr said: “The story is focused during the 1980s along with the staff and pupils decided that our theme is gender equality, that is a essential topic.

The show is called Lacquer as well as the script by Miss Scarr and fellow Year 6 teachers is loosely based on the hit musical Hairspray.
For the season 6 cast and crew it turned out a chance to leave Chilton which has a rousing finale as they quite simply approach no more their time along at the school before being sold to secondary education.

Crazy 1980s themed backdrops and props, glitzy costumes, impressive dance routines, potent stage performances triggered the success of Lacquer.

The show also marked another farewell for Chilton. Miss Scarr is leaving come july 1st to sign up for Upton Juniors in Broadstairs, certainly one of Chilton’s partner schools inside the Viking Academy Trust.

She said: “I have enjoyed an amazing decade at Chilton and Lacquer was my final Year 6 production.
