A special play highlighting the manner in which some individuals waste food while some have none was the centrepiece of the harvest festival celebrations at Ramsgate Arts Primary School.
Year 3 pupils staged a show as you’re watching school as one example of how people countries much like the UK waste food while families in other places around the globe such as Africa grow just enough food to live.
The show also contained a green message and Head of college Nick Budge said: “This was a thoughtful production from your Year 3 group.

“It contained valuable lessons and also brought home what it’s of sustainability and how folks with a lot of food must think even more about anyone who has little or with to count on charities and food banks to nibble on.”

Mr Budge told children how he grows their own vegetables on his allotment and explained the advantages of eating fresh fruits and vegetables when possible in a well-balanced nutritional diet.
Pupil and families have in addition collected tinned and packet food during the harvest festival.

Mr Budge added: “We have generous families that happen to be thrilled to help others by donating food.
“This will be presented towards the elderly and the ones in need of assistance all over the town via the Salvation Army team that will distribute Ramsgate Arts Primary’s harvest festival gift for the community.”
