
A long distinct pitched tents sat on the side of the ring. Thirteen college teams watched their teammates compete individually, as well as the title of team champion.
On Saturday, Oct. 21, the University of Florida’s Hunt Seat team’s 2017-2018 season began at Kimberden barn in Ocala, Fla. UF hosted their visible on Saturday, and also the University of Central Florida’s show happened on Sunday, October 22.
The Florida colleges, and Savannah College of Art and Design from Georgia, competed in jumping and flatting. The teams have been in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association. Top riders from a number of the colleges may go to regionals and nationals for IHSA.
With over 100 riders competing, each show lasted upwards of seven hours. When both days came to a close, SCAD, the current regional and national champion team, won the group champion title. UF’s team are going to be competing again earlier this week at University of North Florida.
