There’s a specialized fresh look for pupils at Upton Junior School in Broadstairs this season.
Children are wearing shirts, ties and blazers rather than polo shirts and jumpers.
The dress code is compulsory for Year 3 pupils who joined at the start of the college year and optional for pupils in a long time 4,5 and 6.
Head of faculty Darci Arthur introduced the new-look uniform together with her Look Smart, Be Smart initiative.
She said: “It is about changing our children’s self-perceptions and approximately encouraging self-respect. There is no doubt that this has brought an effect C their mannerisms have changed and they are generally more business-like and surfaced with regards to their learning.
“That doesn’t mean the fact that fun component learning at Upton has evolved C it is simply as critical as ever, having said that i believe that a much more unified look is making a difference.”
Around 75 percent of these older pupils who weren’t necessary to change their schoolwear have inked so out from choice.
Miss Arthur said: “They such as new Upton look and still have really bought engrossed that’s very encouraging. The university Wear Shop in Margate, which gives the uniforms, has been inundated with requests.”
Each school tie bears the Upton ship crest boasting three stripes while in the pupil’s house colour of red, green, blue or yellow. V-neck sweaters are embroidered with the ship crest additionally, the school name inside appropriate house colour.

There is yet another facelift about the sports field plus PE lessons, with pupils wearing shirts in their house colours by using a white flash.
Miss Arthur added: “Our pupils are proud to be members of their school houses these groups can be more readily identifiable to your children from the colour coding on the uniform.”
