Pupils at Foreland Fields School are visited by Team GB Paralympic athlete James Barnes-Miller.
James was the primary Paralympic Snowboarder to compete for Team GB on the March games in Pyeongchang,?The philipines?. James secured seventh placed in snowboard cross and tenth invest the banked slalom.
James took time outside of his busy training schedule to journey back from Manchester to waste time in the school in Ramsgate. Hmo’s East Kent College, from Broadstairs, is actually in trained in Manchester and Holland to prepare to the upcoming World Championships.
Pupils managed to fulfill with James in a very whole school assembly after which it later the sportsman fielded some excellent questions the fact that pupils had prepared about his life and snowboarding career.
Head teacher Adrian Mount said: “It was very types of James to give up his time for you to discuss with the pupils. They questioned him about his Olympic experience and in what way he trains to make sure they’re at peak fitness to compete. I hope that you can arrange other opportunities for James to come to the varsity as pupils found his visit truly inspirational”.
James added: “It had been a privilege to get visited most of the pupils and staff in the school and find out about each of their inspirational plans pertaining to sporting participation along with new sports facilities.? I can will enjoy seeing the progress while i visit the next time.”
Pupils will now check out track James’ journey as they aims for your win at the World Championship in Canada later this year.
