Pupils at St Laurence Junior Academy in Ramsgate have got part in their Race forever event.
Children along at the Newington Road school sought sponsorship from friends and family in order to complete a one-mile play the digital camera playing field in aid of Cancer Research UK. Year 6 pupils were in charge of organising the day’s events and took up roles including marshalling, cheerleading, photography, presenting medals and selling cakes and refreshments towards the deserving pupils on the finish line.

With a lot of the school’s pupils having their lives touched in a roundabout way by cancer, children filled in cards to wear throughout the race while using names of the we were holding running for. Your children raised when using 2931 Cfar exceeding expectations.

Assistant head teacher Louise Buckland said: “I am so likes to show off our pupils because of their effort as well as raising an incredible amount for that charity. The support their own families and friends have indicated continues to be overwhelming and everybody should feel extremely proud about what may be achieved.

“Our children are the generation that could see ground-breaking treatments and cures for cancer inside their lifetime; they’re the ever rising stars who could be the researchers and lifesavers of tomorrow.”

Representatives from Cancer Research UK in Ramsgate were assigned a cheque and explained to pupils the impact the fact that money raised can have around the charity.

Special thanks were made to Tesco Manston, which donated 20 valuation on refreshments for the children.
