On November 15-17, Iowa State University School of Education former pupils and faculty members will show along at the Association for your Study better Education’s (ASHE) annual conference in Tampa, Florida. Presentations will cover topics from developing vocational schools in India to supporting disabled students living on campus.
Lorenzo Baber, associate professor and head within the School of Education’s advanced schooling division, commented for the faculty’s widespread topics referring to post-secondary education policy and students of various demographics.
“We have national experts in student development, policy development, community colleges, theoretical frameworks around equity and social justice – obviously as we discussed with the presentations at ASHE, they run the gambit for those areas.”
Equity and social justice give you the central theme that connects most of the presentations.
“The common thread is about equity, access, and improving practice and policies around education,” Baber said.
At the conference you will encounter 22 presentations delivered by Iowa State University scholars. Baber is happy about more than merely the top number.
“What I’m happy with most isn’t just the volume of presentations, though the quality and also the quality across different topics. The standard of our presentations are strong.”
“These are all peer reviewed conference presentations, so we’ve went through system and our peers have deemed our scholarship as merit being presented around this conference. It amplifies the program, it amplifies the college, but additionally amplifies the students.”
Representing this system has to be tall task, because the School of Education contains a strong tradition of excellence in terms of higher education.
“Iowa State provides a long standing reputation in higher education- we’re just an extension box of the particular,” Baber said.
Baber has complete confidence as part of his coworkers’ power to continue that tradition of excellence.
“It’s a terrific responsibility to cart that tradition, having said that i think we’re rising and living up to that tradition.”
