Talented young musicians have served up a musical treat for families and staff at Chilton Primary School in Ramsgate.
The summer term showcase highlighted many different different skills and talents from pupils off age groups.
Chilton’s music leader Graham Redwood led the celebration, and parents of Key Stage 2 children were invited to experience a glimpse on the musical curriculum on the school.

Head of School Kate Law said: “At Chilton we love our music and we all encourage our to acquire involved regularly.
“As staff, could we’ve got some very talented children developing their skills throughout the year.
“I hear music transpiring at all times at Chilton but to sit and watch the family performing demonstrated to us all just how much they like their music and ways in which dedicated and passionate they can be regarding the subject.

“The standard and quality of the performances just just get better and better, due to our wonderful pupils and then to Mr Redwood for his inspiring leadership of music, his skills and dedication.
“It is so pleasing to discover everything, effort and enthusiasm combine in the full prove that brought plenty of happiness to opportunity seekers.”
The choir performed many different modern, traditional and spiritual numbers including ‘Create your Own Sort of Music’ (that was a 1960s hit by Mama Cass Elliot including a recent chart and tv success for Paloma Faith) and ‘Dem Bones.’

Rhythm and musical styles from different cultures were demonstrated by some Year 6 pupils whose performance included ‘Day O C The Banana Boat Song’ on xylophones, djembe drums with Lewis on lead vocals, before they entertained with a calypso as well as a rendition of ‘Tequila’.

There were performances from specialist teachers for guitar groups – some who’ve recently begun learning (led by Adam Coney) and brass musicians led by specialist Sally Hannan.

Mac and Nina played piano solos in an incredibly high standard, before the choir closed the night having a rousing rendition of ‘This can be Me’ with the hit musical The highest Showman, with Libby demonstrating her vocal range as lead singer.
