The 6th Annual STEM Awards Dinner

What will make a STEM College successful? Some may say it is a students, some may express it is definitely the faculty, or even the alumni, or community partners, or maybe the education partners, or even the employers. At the 6th Annual YSU STEM Awards Dinner, the whole STEMians figured that just one single group are not going to produce a STEM College successful; these individuals work together for making YSU STEM the top it usually is.?

The 6th Annual STEM Awards Dinner occured on Thursday, February 20th, 2014, together with the biggest crowd the expensive vacation event has experienced! The STEM College was proud to acquire one award winner from every single previous years there, and various important people the YSU STEM Community. These previous winners and distinguished persons in the YSU STEM Community be an aid to hold us together in many different ways, like remaining excellent alumni and being a section of the STEM Advisory Council.

Congressman Tim Ryan, provided guests together with the opening remarks to your night, exclaiming his joy above the improvements Youngstown is undergoing with the assistance of the STEM College and our Community Partners. After echoing the Congressman’s praise, Dr. Martin Abraham, Dean on the YSU STEM College, presented the awards to each on the recipients. The awards and winners were:

Outstanding Alumnus: Dr. Thomas Serenko-ODNR, Chief of Ohio’s Geological Survey and Ohio’s State Geologist

Outstanding Alumnus: Bill Kennedy, Jr.- Redex/Udder Cream

Outstanding Young Alumnus: Dr. Robert Cicchillo- Dow AgroSciences

Outstanding Young Alumna: Andrea L. Arnio- Novelis Corp.

Each within the recipients received their award and thanked their supporters. There was clearly many laughs and memories shared by every one of the awardees. In combination with thanking their loved ones, they thanked our great university to the experiences how they couldn’t have received any place else.
