The Techie Camps, the summertime Bridge Program, and the Summer Honors Institute offer students a chance to learn outside typical classroom and then to explore future aspects of study and future careers.

TECH CORPS Techie Camps
Techie Camp is usually a full-day, week-long summer experience specifically designed for elementary and junior high school students. The goal of Techie Camp is always to engage students in activities that could stimulate a deeper need for technology and also provide opportunities to be able to express their imaginations. Students could take a “deep dive” into Programming, Robotics, App Development or Website development.
Algebra II/Pre-Calculus to Calculus Math Bridge Program
The Math Bridge Program, sponsored through the Choose Ohio First Scholarship Program at YSU, is often a four-week program designed to reinforce basic math concepts and gives kids serious about STEM majors extra preparation for entering pre-calculus and calculus, or for taking standardized tests and college placement exams. Through practice and problem-based learning, the eventual goal of the bridge is usually to help participants grow their mathematics knowledge and enter college all set to take calculus.

Summer Honors Institute
Students with the Summer Honors Institute visited our Center for Innovation in Additive Manufacturing on Tuesday to explore this revolutionary technology.
Youngstown State University’s Summer Honors Institute offers gifted and talented students the cabability to explore and find out new information in many of disciplines. Courses were manufactured by outstanding university faculty when using the dual objective of introducing students towards a specific discipline which is not available in a secondary school setting and providing activities suitable for more in-depth study. Is also which is designed to supply a high amount of student interaction employing a selection of “hands-on” activities. Appropriate alternative learning experiences may also be utilized.
