No matter that you check out YSU, there will always be STEM students making an impression on campus. Whether our students consider part in organizations, sororities or fraternities, internships, or volunteer services, its noticeable that each student is striving to remain the ideal they will get.
This year, Rayann Atway has moved up to take on the function of YSU’s Student Government Association President. Rayann is a senior in the Biology, Pre-Med program and features accomplished several wonderful landmarks in her own time at YSU. In the past two summers, she gets interned at National Institutes of Health (NIH). The girl with a component of many organizations on campus, like YSU’s American Medical Student Organization (AMSA), Alpha Epsilon Delta (AED), and Student Government Association (SGA). She’s yet another an associate the YSU Honors College where she actively participates within the Pen Pals Program.
Throughout the course of her years at YSU, Rayann has volunteered at a number of organizations like Akron Children’s Hospital and Northside Medical. She have also been in the opportunity to function as a medical scribe at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital where she charted different information furnished by the physicians at the hospital. After she graduates at the moment, Rayann hopes to attend med school.
When she started at YSU, her interests in SGA also began. Within her initial year, she served like a freshman representative, taking actions to encourage change at YSU. While in the following 2 years, Rayann had become the STEM representative and served to be a parliamentarian on the executive board.
“I fell excited about SGA,” she said. “I love the things SGA does for YSU students and our community.”
This year, SGA are going to be tackling several projects. These projects add the continuing development of the food pantry, assistance in the neighborhood, the product range of supplies for hurricane victims, textbook affordability, and improving voter registration rates on campus.
