Alexis Fisher may be a Biology major that can additionally be receiving a Chemistry minor. My wife done delights at YSU that haven’t gone unnoticed!
Recently, Alexis was chosen through the Center for Animal Research and Education, or CARE, as being an intern to your Spring 2018 semester. CARE is situated in Bridgeport, Texas.
The Center for Animal Research and Education is actually a non-profit organization focused upon education, research, rescue, and long-term take care of exotic animals.
“As an intern at CARE, my duties will assistance with daily operations with the facility,” said Alexis. “This includes checking water buckets with the cats at all hours, feeding our lemurs and coati, and giving medications to cats that need special supplements.”
Alexis are going to be performing different tasks daily.
“At CARE, the cats are fed a diet composed of whole animals like horses and cows, as well as larger cats (lions and tigers) are fed every four days. The smaller cats (leopards and cougars) are going to be fed every four days at the same time, but they receive smaller degrees of food in the form of chicken,” said Alexis. “Between feeds, we will clean enclosures and replace bedding with the cats.”

“Everyday at CARE may be different, but it keeps the task exciting,” said Alexis. “Most in the cats have been rescued and are also now provided a far greater daily life for the facility.”
