
YSU’s first ever hackathon will need place April 17-April 19. Students are invited to affix HackYSU in Meshel Hall to use the weekend to code, tinker, and prepare something amazing.
“A hackathon is a rapid-development semi-competition,” said Joe Duncko, director from the event. “It’s like a science fair, the places you have 24-36 hours to generate something and then show it off soon after the weekend.”
All upper-education students of the skill sets are here you are at join C not merely YSU students. HackYSU is hoping to get around 200 participants. Food and refreshments will probably be provided the full weekend.
“We’re wanting to invite engineering students, design students, and programming students,” Joe said,. “They should bring their laptop and toiletries should they intend on staying an entire weekend, so they is able to bring whatever tools they wish to hack on – we’ll also have 3D printers, Arduinos, Oculus Rifts, and many more here for students to gain access to.”
HackYSU is partnering with Major League Hacking, the best network of collegiate hackathons near your vicinity.
“Last semester alone [Major League Hacking] pulled over 25,000 students with over 50 hackathons,” Joe said. “They are available, they help us out, they carry a number of their sponsors, plus they bring stuff for the people to hack on.”
