Junior chemical engineering major Rana Abuhashim was named Co-op of this year 2016 for my child help the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Akron.
Each year, one student is selected to take delivery of the award for outstanding performance at the job and positive influence in the neighborhood.
Though a lot of Rana’s work together with Goodyear was confidential, she asserted it turned out an excellent match her major part of study.
“A wide range of items that I learned in education I’m in the position to apply while in the field,” she said.
All professors hope their own classroom instruction will make an impression and help students of their fields, and students like Rana prove the eating habits study school and work is real.
Rana is continuing her help Goodyear this season as she spends this rotation in Kansas.
Students can be viewed for Co-op or Intern of the year with an application process like an essay including a recommendation coming from a faculty advisor and employer. Rana received notice within the opportunity from the STEM Professional Services at YSU.
Rana’s advice to all students is to purchase involved-join student organizations, find an internship, get noticed.
“It’s not all with regards to the grades. Find the experience and place it against your resume,” said Rana.
In item her co-op experience, Rana has also been involved with AIChE, SWE, Phi Sigma Rho, and the Emerging Leaders Program.
