The Information Security and Ethical Hacking Association is a student organization committed to teaching its members about security threats and exploring the best way to safeguard digital information.
While a lot of people think about hacking being a negative thing, the ISEHA talks about hacking diversely.
Members in the ISEHA think it’s essential to learn what switches into hacking to make sure they are going to protect his or her information from your threats.
Wes Stanton, president on the ISEHA, functions as a mentor to many people within the students involved.
He gives demonstrations within the meetings and definitely will help a few of the others in penetration testing.
“It’s type of in anyway levels,” he explained. “During those little demos I was able to, I let them do it ignore themselves and pay attention to if they are able to perform it, then I did guide them through it on the end showing them the particular steps i always would decide to try to be able to break the server as well as to get into my switch.”
Though the ISEHA is free of specific events planned just for this semester, more student involvement will trigger more group activities.
In yesteryear, these students have competed nationally in cybersecurity competitions and they’ve got held several local capture the flag style matches among themselves.
“Another thing that we are seeking to do is get speakers in. There exists a large amount of those who find themselves very qualified on campus here and people who I am talking to on Facebook to speak and provide lectures, and now we simply need a lot more people to appear to individuals,” said Stanton.
If you find attractive joining ISEHA, email Stanton at [email protected], visit their Facebook page, or you can visit a celebration. Meets happen to be in Meshel 116 on Fridays at 5:30 p.m.
